About the Artist:
U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 1968-1972. I began to draw and paint back in the early sixties where life for a 12 yr old in the Midwest was straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. My mother was an artist and my uncle taught art so there was no shortage of supplies or encouragement. My father, a veteran of the War in the Pacific, tempered my artistic leanings with discipline and an ever evolving schedule of laborious chores.
Art has never been my vocation. One must pay the bills. Despite that, I have always made room for a studio where I have created works primarily on commission. My specialty is portraiture and I have been fortunate to receive some recognition for my work which is held in private collections from coast to coast. I am currently creating a series of one of a kind baseball cards made of layers of thin basswood, drawn and painted with a variety of mixed mediums. They have met with some success on eBay and I look forward to the possibility of developing a website in the near future.
